    Short answer

A marketing dashboard reports activity and channel performance for operators. A board-ready Financial View reports the consequence of that activity in the language of the P&L — contribution profit, payback, and scenario risk — reconciled to the finance system. They are different documents with different audiences, and using one as the other is the most common reason boards lose confidence in marketing.

What belongs on the one page

    • •Contribution profit versus plan, with the variance explained in two sentences
    • •MER trend across four quarters
    • •CLV:CAC and CAC payback by acquisition cohort
    • •Scenario table at -20%, flat, and +20% spend
    • •The two assumptions most likely to be wrong, named explicitly

What to move to the appendix

Channel ROAS, creative performance, platform-attributed revenue, campaign-level detail, and anything that cannot be reconciled to net revenue.

    PMC Perspective

PMC Thinkers produces a quarterly Financial View for every client alongside the operating dashboard, built from the finance-approved baseline and the KPI dictionary. Boards do not need more data; they need one reconciled page and an honest statement of what remains uncertain.

    FAQ

Should the agency present to the board? Only with the CFO''s numbers, not its own.

How often should the Financial View be produced? Quarterly, with a monthly contribution snapshot in between.
